Joining The Struggle

The Struggling Blogger, authored by an amazing man, Roy, who is struggling in more ways than one.  You see not only is he unemployed, but also carrying out the dual duty of being a widower father.  He has been trying to support his children by blogging, a very difficult chore indeed.  I can only imagine the daily struggles he goes through.

Roy has secured his own domain name, TheStugglingBlogger.com, but now needs a domain host.  Well perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel, for you see Technology Talks is hosting a contest, that will reward the winner with free domain hosting for one year.  In order for Roy to win Free Domain Hosting, he needs our help.  It really is quite simple, the more bloggers who write a post supporting his effort, the better chance he has of winning free domain hosting for one year.

I support Roy of  The Struggling Blogger, and hope he can win the   Free Domain Hosting contest at Technology Talks.  It may be one of those little things that could make all the difference for one struggling blogger who simply needs to blog.

As we learn to move beyond the labels we have adoped to descibe ourselves, we come to realize we are far more than we had initially imagined. Supporting and encouraging others is a meaningful thing to do.

How in the world does one "support oneself" blogging ?!? I'm probably exposing my nearly complete ignorance of the blogging world here, but the confusion is a genuine one and not meant to be disrespectful or disparaging.

@ Roy, My pleasure, I hope it went through.

@ Jena, Thank you.

@ Sandee, I hope he does also. Thanks

@ Vixen, Thanks and Happy New year.

@ Liara, thank you, I do like to support and encourage people as much as possible.

@ Kel, There are a number of ways a person can make money off their blog. It depends on how much effort they put into it, and what track or nitch they go after. My bog is a personal blog, and I'm not real sure there are many good ways to generate funds from it. You can put adds up, that receive compensation from a click through. One could also do sponsored posts, giving a review of a specific product or service. There are other ways, like affiliate links and such, sometimes frowned on by others.

If one gets recognized by the more popular big name blogs, there is always the possibility of paid guest posting.
