Slap My Hand and Call Me Slacker

2008-06-22-1740-44I know, I have been remiss in my blogging duties, hey I’ve been sick cut me some slack LOL. No really I have been very bad, and not been keeping up with things. I found it very hard to concentrate for the last two weeks. Something to do with severe abdominal discomfort, and rushing to the bathroom every ten minutes.

This week though it has been work. I got home anywhere between 8:30 and 10:30 PM for the last four days, and was just too tired to do anything. Sorry everybody but that’s life in the fast lane right; (yeah sure what ever). At least I have kept my sense of humor, I think, or maybe its only funny to me, I don’t know.

You know what the hard part is, getting all these crazy ideas running around in your head, and not being able to do anything with them. I was keeping a paper journal for awhile, but lost it somewhere at work, god knows where. Someone is going to have an interesting read when they find it. I doubt anything in it will make sense to anyone but me, kind of my own personal shorthand.

Now all I have to do is try to recreate some of those ideas, and let my imagination go wild. I think I will pick a few new books this weekend, and try for some fresh inspiration. At least I’m feeling better, and once I catch up with all that back log of household chores and other stuff I should be able to get serious.

I have been having trouble open this blog in with IE at work, has anyone else had problems. That will teach me a lesson for changing things up. I have found another real nice template, that I like so maybe its time for another change of clothes. I know I’m just a glutton for punishment, but its fun to play around with things. I set up a test blog, if you want to check the template and see what you think click here.

Well I’m off now to catch up on my blog reading, so I’ll see everybody as we go along.

Don't apologise, sometimes life gets in the way of blogging hey. Glad to see you well again though - your readers will always wait. It took me 3 weeks to start feeling like I was returning to normal after the flu (well as close to normal as I get that is).
I always feel guilty if I don't blog every second day or so - bizarre as that is. Sometimes though a break is jsut what you need anyway. And yes, I have tried the journal thing too but then dont understand my shorthand when I later go back looking for ideas! As for your new template, I so love the header picture - it looks stunning against the black background! I wish I was game to try new templates too - good on you, your HTML skills must be getting good!!

GDI . . . just got dumped out because of my own stupidity. Grrrrrr . . . I have a love/HATE relationship with computers.

Glad you're feeling better. Two weeks of abdominal hell is no fun (I had about that long on one of my business trips to Peru, ugh!)

The RanDawg and I just got into bloody-hot Antioch today from our 8-day vacation in lovely-cool Lake Tahoe. Spent the first two days there with TinaLeigh & Karl. That was nice. We don't get together often enough, we sibs.

It is still bloody hot in the top two floors of the house, so we are hunkered down on the bottom floor in the Santa Fe room trying to stay sort of cool, and get caught up with our email (what a nasty chore that is proving to be . . . make we wonder why I take vacation).

I am not having any trouble opening or loading this blog.

Lily, I know I feel guilty for not blogging, but like you say there are times when no mater what you do you just don't feel like it. I had heard you got a bug also, and am glad to know all is better. Hows the trip planing going?

Wow, Kel, welcome back, and I'm glad you had a good time. I wish I could have gone up there also but there was just no way. I know what you mean about the heat, boy oh boy do I know. Soul Merlins been checking on you.

Hi Eric,
Yes, my friend, don't apologize. It's good to know that you have other things in life than just blogging. LOL. Blogging too much is not healthy to any of us. But it's hard. Like in my case, instead of working on my novel or writing my own post, instead, I'm out and about reading and commenting on everyone else's. Hehe. I'll check your new template some other time and then comment on it later.

Hi Eric,
Sorry you haven’t been feeling up to par but I have to say I agree with Tashabud. I’m relatively knew to blogging, but one of the first things I noticed is it can really get in the way of real life. Taking a break is good thing and helps put things in perspective.

I do get an error message when I call up your present blog. I just refresh and it comes up…. But I wondered what that was about. I love the new layout.!

Tasha, I know, trying to find that balance is pretty tough. I do enjoy writing, even when all I seem to put out is crap. What I really like is going around and reading all the other blogs. The problem arises when it starts to interfere with real life requirements.

Hisham, Thanks buddy

Vikki, I think your right taking a break every once in awhile is a good idea. But oh boy is it hard. I had no idea when I started this it would be so addictive, LOL. I'm trying to figure out all the problems but am having trouble with some of it.

Soul Merlin has been checking up on me? I guess I'd better make a visit to his site and see what's up.

Tahoe was so lovely, we had a very relaxing and refreshing vacation. I hope we'll get you up to our condo (time share) some day.

Kel, Yes and he has some new sites too. I'll send you an email with his blogs, or a link to his Blog Catalog profile.

If I have to fly, you can forget it! LOL

Hey Slacker, err I mean Eric, don't worry about lack of blogging especially if you are sick. We don't want you spreading any bugs.

I like the new test layout, but I did notice the widgets on the right loaded a bit slowly. I use Firefox always, so I haven't noticed any problems with this one so far.

Don't work too hard!

I love the cat!!!! Does it have it's hand under it's chin - or is it just my imagination.

I know what you mean about having writing ideas, while working and then not being able to do anything about it...and then being too tired when getting home...I think it's about to happen to me tonight.

Vixen, thanks how did you like my poor attempt at humor? Thanks for the input, that widget is a popular posts widget, and is real slow. I'm working on figuring out how to put it in a tabbed widget form so it won't slow down the loading of the page. I use Firefox at home, but at work we have IE unfortunately.

Merlin, that's our "little" boy Mai Tai. and he is actually cleaning his paw, but it does look like he's resting his chine on his hand, contemplating life.

Sometimes its so aggravating to get a "great idea" then lose it when you get home or have time to get online. With your schedule, I am surprised you can keep track of your ideas, let alone get them posted.

Hey you seem like a genuinely nice guy, thanks for swinging by and sharing those encouraging words to help me quit smoking.

Gonna check more out, cheers!

Don't mean to double up, but I forgot to mention that the kitty in that pic looks like my lil f**ker. Feel free to delete this...ew...you auto publish...ummm..

I think you won't mind, but feel free to zap if I'm out of line. Cheers!

Wayne, no problem, not out of line at all. It's simply a term of endearment right LOL. The cat is our Bengal Snow Leopard, who is quite the character.
